Sunshiny Day

When the sun decides to come out in Oregon, in the middle of the winter, it's not something to take for granted. (Especially if there is a little warmth mixed with the crispness.)

Today is one of those days and I'm enjoying every little bit of it. I enjoyed it this morning when it was shining through the kitchen window, warming me while I ate my oatmeal and drank my coffee. I enjoyed it this afternoon when I took my little one for a walk to have lunch with her big sister. And I'm enjoying it now as I sit here and type; back door wide open, birds chirping sweetly, fresh air making its way in, grass and oak trees and moss all lit up.

And what's really sweet is that my three-year-old fell asleep on our way back home and is now snoozing peacefully, all bundled up in her stroller, breathing in all that sunlight and freshness.

And I'm here quietly taking it all in. It's a good, sunshiny day here in my world and I'm basking in it.
