Playing with Paint

Thanks to my husband (who scanned and printed these), I have a few of my little creations to share. This is just way too much fun!

Here's what I've been playing with.

The next two were inspired by Kelly Rae Roberts, someone I've just recently discovered and have fallen head over heels with. I absolutely love her art. I love all the color and the beautiful, expressive faces she creates. I love that she combines words with art. She also has a blog that is so honest and real-she seems to just spill it all out. What a beautiful thing. Anyway, discovering her has been such a blessing.

I love that my hands have little dabs of paint here and there and that I have my own cute little apron just for painting. I'm in the process of creating a special space just for doing art (so exciting!) and am having so much fun with it. I bought new fabric for curtains and am clearing off shelves so I have room to put my growing list of supplies.

The girls and I spent the morning creating adorable little painted letter cards (that spelled their names) to put up in the "creative room." We had the entire kitchen table loaded with paint, brushes, patterned paper, scissors, paper towels, glue, etc...It was so great to share my excitement with them and watch their little paint-covered hands with brushes and crayons and scissors.

It's been a long time since I've felt this inspired. i have so much to learn but I'm eager and excited to dive in and absorb as much as I can.
Now, I'm heading to bed for some much needed sleep. Sweet dreams.
