This past weekend we ventured into the woods for a backpacking trip. Despite the steepness of the hike, the creek crossing, the fact that we were carrying heavy backpacks and trying to get three young children (we went with our friends and their little one), to keep moving for four to five steep miles, we had a lot of fun.
The weather was pretty ideal, the scenery gorgeous, the crawdads plentiful, the creek beautiful and soothing.
We learned a few things, like never ever, when in the state of Oregon, go backpacking without a rain fly. It was looking, for several panicky minutes, that all 7 of us were going to have to pile into our friend's three-man-tent together. Luckily it only rained a little and we were spared.
Below are a few photos of our adventure.
