Hooked on Yoga

Yoga is a way of moving into stillness in order to experience the truth of who you are. The practice of yoga is the practice of meditation-or inner listening-in the poses and meditation, as well as all day long. It's a matter of listening inwardly for guidance all the time, and then daring enough and trusting enough to do as your are prompted.  Erich Schiffmann   




I've dabbled in yoga a little here and there over the years, but I think I'm finally getting how very much I want and need it in my life, on a very regular basis. 

As of a week or so ago, I've been getting up early, before the rest of my people wake up, to do yoga.  I have the perfect room in the back of my house, the room I recently turned into the "creative/play room."  Last week I decided I would clear the room out even more so I had some space to do yoga.  It's been perfect.  I roll out of bed at 6:00 a.m, walk to the back room, put on my workout clothes, light a candle and begin. 

Ahhh...I can't quite express how much better I feel after just four or five "sessions. " The yoga book I'm reading (Yoga, The Spirit and Practice of Moving Into Stillness, by Erich Schiffmann) says, when you do yoga you feel luminescence throughout your body." I swear, that's what I'm feeling.  My body feels less stiff and creaky, more energized and grounded.  I'm noticing my breath more throughout the day.  I feel connected to my body, which is a pretty new feeling for me.

I'm pretty sure I'm hooked.
