Coming Back

I picked up the paintbrush again!

I didn't realize just how much i've been missing it.   I am remembering how much it fills me to put color on paper (or canvas or wood), how much it nurtures and settles the busy chatter of my mind.  It is so sweet to slow down and allow the brush to be my guide.

I'm not sure why i needed to step away for a while, or why i've so resisted coming back to something that has brought such richness to my life.  Or how long the inspiration will stick around.

For now i'll just be gentle and try to be present with what is.  And remind myself to trust the ebb and flow that is life.

P.S:  I'll post my new painting in the next few days...stay tuned!
