One Little Word

Over the last few days, I've been pondering my word for 2010.  So many come to mind, i'm not sure I can pick just one.  Last year's word was integration, the year before that was give, the year before that was trust.

I first read about picking a word for the year from Ali Edwards and now it seems the whole blogging world is having fun with this.  The idea, in Ali's words, "is to choose a word (or let it choose you) that has the potential to make an impact on your life."  To read more about what's behind this, click here.

Here are the words that have been coming to me:  Lighten, soften, laughter, ease, nurture, abundance, flow, presence, breathe.

I so want this to be a year of flow and ease, softness and lightening up (both physically and in every other way).  I want to give freely and receive graciously.  I want to let go of all that doesn't serve me.  I want to accept and allow.  I want to nurture my body, my mind, my spirit, my family.  I want to laugh more and be more present.  I want to flow with rather than resist.  I want joy and goodness and love to come with softness and ease rather than through efforting and struggle.  Rather than reaching for something different, something that appears to be bigger or better, I want to be where i am, to see the absolute beauty that is with me and inside of me at any given moment

Ease, lightness, flow...ahh, sounds so very nice.

I want to trust and know.  I want to connect and expand and share.  I want to live with passion and grace and inspire others to do the same.

With the wind at my back, i want to SOAR.

I am eager and ready to begin anew, to open to magic and possibility.  I'll have to let all of this sit and settle for a few days and get back to you with my one little word.

I'm wondering, what word will become yours in this beautiful new year?

  1. I have indeed seen this idea everywhere and have done it myself. I love your words and the process you are going through to allow one in particular to settle in your heart. Beautiful.

  2. I choose grace. It's an oldie, tried and true, but new (and difficult) for me!

What are you thinking/feeling? I'd really love to know...
