fearLESS Friday

Week 14

"We have become so obsessed with getting rid of our obsession, with riding on top of our suffering and ignoring its inherent message, that we lose the pieces of ourselves waiting to be found beneath it.  But fixing ourselves is not the same as being ourselves.  The real richness of obsession lies in the ineffable stillness, the irrefutable wholeness, that is found in turning toward its source."  Geneen Roth, from her book Women, Food and God

For fearLESS Friday today, i'm going to do something that i find myself constantly resisting/avoiding.  I'm going to sit and breathe and be still.  I'm not going to write or paint or clean things.  I'm not going to analyze or try to fix.  I'm not going to obsess over what i "should" or "shouldn't" be doing.  I'm going to let myself be.  Here.  Now.  Just as i am.

Here's to embracing yourself, just exactly as you are.  Happy Friday, beautiful ones.

  1. Just to sit and be in the moment can be so difficult sometimes...luckily I have a houseful of bunnies who seem to remind me of the importance of doing so often:D...just sitting on the floor with them, snuggling, petting, watching them eat or sleep is so centering/balancing for me...hope you had a lovely day 'doing nothing' and just being:D

  3. Hi Julia,

When I read your heartfelt words lesson 182 from A Course in Miracles popped into my mind...

I will be still an instant and go home.

Here are a few words from this beautiful lesson..

'It is this child in you your Father knows as His Own Son. It is this Child Who knows His Father. He desires to go home so deeply, so unceasingly, His voice cries unto you to let Him rest a while. He does not ask for more than just a few instants of respite; just an interval in which He can return to breathe again the holy air that fills his Father's house. YOU are His home as well. He will return. But give Him just a little time to be Him-self, within the peace that is His home, resting in silence and in peace and love.

I will turn off the computer and the phone and join you in the stillness.

    Love Nige :-)
