"Love doesn’t happen to us, it happens because of us, because of who we are and what we do. It happens because we make it happen, because we choose it. On any given day, we have the opportunity again and again to choose isolation, withdrawal, anger, fear… or love. Love is untidy. It’s unpredictable. It’s often inconvenient and occasionally terrifying. Love happens, I’m convinced, when we are magnificent and badass enough to make it happen."
-Judy Clement Wall
When my beautiful, bold, brave, incredible-writer, love warrior friend, Judy Clement Wall, told me she wanted to kick off her new site with something fun and collaborative, and asked me to join her, I said a wholehearted YES.
I am more convinced than ever that if we tap into our unique human capacity to choose love over fear, anger and withdrawal; if we let love fuel our hunger to communicate and create; if we believe in (and surrender to) its power to break us open in astonishing and transformative ways… we can change the world.
Love, is there anything more important?
To read more, head on over to J's brand new site, A Human Thing, which she launched today. Today! I think you'll find that what she's doing is quite beautifully contagious and quite incredibly brave and so damn important. Be prepared for your world to be rocked.
And, now for the details on our little project...
We will be sharing 41 (yes, that number again!) 6-word days. In J's words: Every night, we’ll email each other a 6-word glimpse of our day, whether it was wonderful or terrible or hilarious or strange, and we’ll post them on our sites. It’ll be like holding hands; together apart.
Your turn! (Today, you can post your words right here below.)
