Dreaming Real-ness

 A couple of nights ago I had a dream that shook me awake.  I wish I could convey to you how this one dream has woven its way into the fibers of my being and seems to be directing me somehow.  Just thinking about it brings the tears now and makes all the little hairs on my body stand up straight.  Let's see if my words can show you...

This particular night, my husband & I had one of those important conversations the two of us don't have often enough—an honest check in, a discussion about the places where we feel stuck/where old, tired patterns cling on for dear life, places we want to awaken, hesitant promises to show up more fully.  It was an emotional conversation.  That night while I slept this is what happened…

I had a dream.  I had a dream that my sweet seven-year-old wrote a letter to God, she wrote a lot of things in this precious letter, but this is the one thing that jumped out and stuck to me and won't let me go.  It said:

Dear God, please help my mommy and daddy know that their fears are not real.

More goosebumps.  

I can't stop thinking about these words, about the sweetness of her angel-like presence in this dream. I know this message is a gift that is here to heal my scared places.  I know that my spirit is nudging me to lean toward absolute love, absolute trust.

Some questions...

What if we believed, no—what if we knew, without a hint of doubt, that only love is real? What if we began to choose and choose and choose to drop the old/the what ifs, to arrive each moment anew--to give ourselves fully to every now and now and now?  What if we decided to meet each moment, not with our thoughts and stories and judgments and fears and resistance, but with our full, soft, listening attention?  What if we trusted with every morsel of ourselves that every single thing is happening for our higher good, to move us more toward love—to the only thing that is real?  

Can you imagine?  Can you imagine the weight that would be lifted?  Can you imagine the Seeing that would be seen—the beauty would that would no longer be missed?

I want, with every part of myself, to make the Now the primary focus of my life—to inch closer, always, to this kind of deep listening, this kind of softness, this kind of knowing and trust—this kind of Real.
