This is what silence said to me today:
Trust what you can't see. Move forward
despite the wobbly groundlessness
of I don't know. Breathe, love, create, show up
as you are, everyday - no matter what. Go
to where wild irises grow. Say thank you
for all of it - weeds
cracks, sunbeams, that hand on your shoulder -
the forever throb of ache
it's all
a doorway - a hand leading you back
to grace.
I love this--all silence leads to a sense of grace, of poetic quietness. Silence leads to finding yourself, because when you aren't listening to the entire world, you are finally listening to YOU--and you say what you need to hear.

At least, that's how I imagine it.
Yes, Karin - I'm amazed by how the answers really are right here & how it's just a matter of slowing down & getting quiet enough to hear them (which we are often not willing to do). The noise blocks the wisdom that is always right here...
DeleteThank you for stopping by & taking the time to connect - I super appreciate it/you.
Your poem is so beautiful Julia. Your words always speak to me.

It's like you wrote my heart. Thank you for this. xoxo
ReplyDeleteWell, this must be a stunningly beautiful poem then.
ReplyDeleteHave I told you how much I adore & treasure your heart?
"Show up as you are everyday" speaks to me today. Sometimes I retreat or resist when that is probably the greatest chance to participate in life.
